Registry
No gifts are needed or expected, because...
As we've lived together for a year or two,
We really don't need anything new.
We have our dishes, towels, and pans,
Our bedding, frames, and multiple fans!
Knives and forks and spoons galore,
There isn't much room for anything more!
So if you insist on giving a gift,
A check or cash would give us a lift.
Perhaps you could help towards our honeymoon spends,
Or where our home is in need of a mend.
Please don't be offended at this type of request,
The most important thing is to have you as our guest!
Send a monetary gift to our Venmo for our "Honeymoon & Home" fund.

About Us
How did you first meet?
We met through Mike's sister Deanna. Melissa met Deanna while working at Rocket Mortgage almost 14 years ago. Mike ended up joining Rocket Mortgage and we all started hanging out together – drinks, concerts, dinner.
Who made the first move? How?
Mike made the first move by reaching out via Facebook Messenger in early 2018. We played Words With Friends and chatted about our likes/dislikes. We realized how much we had in common and planned our first date.
What was your most memorable date?
Our second date is for sure our most memorable. We went to the Detroit River Front to enjoy the carnival and it suddenly started to downpour! We laughed and refused to let it ruin our date. So, we decided to walk in the rain to the, now closed, Ready Player One. We dried off while drinking, eating, and playing video games.
Who's going to take out the trash?
Usually it's Mike—he works from home on Thursdays and Melissa works downtown. But when Melissa gets the chance, she'll try to beat him to it and take it out.
What's your favorite activity together?
We love doing everything together but our absolute favorites are camping, road trips, and planning our Halloween parties.
Where are you going for your honeymoon?
Not sure yet—possibly a road trip or somewhere warm and relaxing!
What's the best meal you have eaten together?
Ruth's Chris in Troy for Mike's 30th birthday. It was the best steak we've ever had! We recreate it often at home.
What's the most memorable trip you have taken together?
The great road trip of 2019! We traveled across the country to California and back. We saw so many amazing things such as:
- Grand Canyon
- 4-Corners
- Cabazon Dinosaurs
- Michael Myers house/neighborhood
- Hoover Dam
- Dodge City
- Tombstone & the O.K. Corral
- St. Louis Arch
- Hollywood Walk of Fame
What was your first concert together?
Before we started dating, we saw I Love the 90s Tour in the summer of 2016 together with a group of friends. During our first month or so of dating, we saw Journey & Def Leppard in 2018.
"The dorkiest thing about us is..."
We speak in movie quotes! Guess the movie: "Get off my train!"
"We're on the same page about..."
- Family – Our families come first and we only want fur babies.
- Going to the movies – We both like to leave early, get snacks and drinks, and be seated at least 15 minutes before the previews start.
"The most spontaneous thing we've done is..."
The great road trip of 2019! We still laugh about how we were like, "Wanna do it?" Then we scheduled our PTO at work and hit the road. We played a lot by ear, such as which hotels we'd stay at and stopping to see the house from The Wizard of Oz. That's a funny story!
"We are regulars at..."
Nu New York Deli – close to home, somewhat cheap, and consistently delicious.
"A life goal of ours is..."
Building our forever home on a few acres.
"Our song is..."
Considering we are not traditional... why limit ourselves to one song when we can have our own soundtrack! Check out our ever-growing playlist on Spotify.
